What Can You Track?

With Listing Tracking, you can:

  • Track competitor Etsy listings

  • Track your own Etsy listings

  • Organize tracked items into collections (folders)

How Listing Tracking Works

Before tracking listings, you’ll first create a collection.

A collection is a folder that groups related listings together — for example:

  • Shoes

  • Wall Art Competitors

  • My Bestsellers

Once a collection exists, you have three ways to add listings to it.

Option 1: Add Competitor Listings From Search

  1. Find competitor products during your competition research.

  2. Click the Add to Collection button on a listing.

  3. Choose an existing collection or create a new one.

  4. The listing will be added and tracked in that collection.

✅ This is the fastest way to build a competitor tracking list while browsing.

Option 2: Track a Listing by URL

  1. Copy the Etsy listing URL.

  2. Paste the URL into the tracking input field.

  3. Select the collection you want to add it to.

  4. Start tracking the listing.

✅ Best when you already have a specific competitor listing in mind.

Option 3: Track Your Own Etsy Listings

  1. Select Add My Etsy Listing

  2. You’ll be taken to your Etsy listings

  3. Choose the listing you want to track

  4. Add it to a collection you’ve created

✅ Great for comparing your own listing performance directly against competitors.

Using Collections

Collections appear as folder-style boxes once created.

Each collection holds related listings or shops, and you can create multiple collections for different products or competitors.

Example collections:

  • Shoes Competitors

  • Wedding Signs

  • My Top Listings

How to Choose the Right Competitors to Track

A key benefit of Listing Tracking is identifying your direct competition.

Direct competitors aren’t just listings that share the same keyword — they’re listings competing for the same purchase decision.

For example:

  • A “Funny Mom Shirt” listing is not directly competing with a “Funny Dad Shirt” listing

  • But another “Funny Mom Shirt” at a similar price point is a true competitor

Tracking the right listings gives you clearer insights into what’s actually driving sales.

What Insights Can You Gain?

Once competitor listings are tracked, you can begin asking:

  • Which listings are selling more than mine?

  • Why are they outperforming me?

  • What changes can I test to close the gap?

Common things sellers discover include:

  • Competitors have cleaner main images

  • They offer more variation options

  • They use personalization or free shipping

  • Their listings stand out more in search results

Listing Tracking helps you find these patterns and make smarter improvements. Here are some of the data points capture in Listing Tracking
