Understand Your Product Finder Tool

Product Finder is a research tool inside ProfitTree designed to help you explore product trends, demand signals, and shop activity on Etsy. It allows you to analyze products and niches using a wide range of performance and visibility metrics so you can make informed decisions when researching new ideas.

Product Finder is intended for research and discovery, not guaranteed profitability.

Accessing Product Finder

To open Product Finder:

  1. Log into your ProfitTree dashboard

  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Product Research

  3. Click Product Finder

You’ll land on the Product Finder home screen, where you can start researching products immediately.

Using the Search Bar

At the top of Product Finder, use the search bar to enter keywords related to products or niches.

Examples:

  • “tumbler”

  • “cat slippers”

  • “mug gift”

After entering a keyword, Product Finder loads results based on recent Etsy marketplace data.

Saved Searches & Recent Searches

Below the search bar, you’ll see:

  • Saved Searches – Keywords or filtered searches you’ve saved for later

  • Recent Searches – Your most recent research activity

Clicking any saved or recent search reloads that dataset instantly.

Get Inspired Section

At the bottom of the Product Finder home screen is the Get Inspired section.

This area:

  • Displays a rotating selection of trending product visuals

  • Helps spark new product ideas

  • Allows you to click into a product to view its metrics

This section is optional and meant for idea discovery.

Product & Shop Results

After running a search, Product Finder displays two result views:

The Products tab shows listing-level data for Etsy listings matching your search.

Common metrics include:

Not all columns are shown by default.

Customizing Columns & Filters

  • Customize Columns: Choose which metrics appear in the table

  • Filter Button: Narrow results by price, category, listing age, demand, and more

These tools help you focus on the metrics that matter most to your research.

Watch Feature

Click the heart icon (♥) to watch a keyword or product search.

Watched searches allow you to revisit and monitor changes over time.

Shops Tab

The Shops tab aggregates data at the shop level for sellers offering products related to your search.

This view is useful for competitor research.

Common metrics include:

  • Niche Score

  • Monthly Revenue

  • Monthly Sales

  • Total Revenue

  • Total Sales

  • Demand Ratio

  • Views

  • Average Rating

  • Listings with Ads

How to Use Product Finder Effectively

  • Use keywords broadly, then narrow results with filters

  • Compare multiple metrics instead of relying on one signal

  • Review both Products and Shops tabs for context

  • Save searches to track niches over time

  • Use Product Finder alongside Product Reports and Dashboard metrics

Summary

Product Finder helps you explore product ideas and market activity on Etsy using recent performance and visibility data. By combining keyword searches, filters, customizable metrics, and shop-level insights, you can research opportunities more efficiently and make data-backed decisions.
